A piano, the corner of a bed, a loveseat — these intimate, domestic spaces are quietly inhabited by anonymous, seductive female forms. The mood is languid, the lighting chiaroscuro. There’s a stillness to these portraits, a slow tranquility that infuses them with a sense of non-specific time.
The beauty of photography is that it can be literal or suggestive, specific or generic. Here, the camera is complicit in creating a reverie of sensuality and desire that breaks free of the confines of measured time. Beauty, seduction, and femininity are, after all, the subjects of human inspiration since time immemorial.
